KVK Facilities
Facilities we are having are KVK Farm, Cafeteria, Hi-tech Poly house, Bio-control laboratory, Soil, Water Testing laboratory, Apiary unit, Loose housing Dairy farm, Poultry, Goat, Waste Water unit, Azola demonstration unit, Fishery unit, Hydro phonic unit, Nursery, Shed net, Food Processing unit, Sericulture unit, Milk collection centre, Neem oil and Cake manufacturing unit, Seed processing unit, Pulses procurement unit, Dal Mil, Organic farming center, Custom hiring center.
Automation – A computerized irrigation & fertigation system is installed on the KVK farm. This includes a controller, computer, motor pump, fertigation machine, sand filter & disk filter, automatic back flush technique for cleaning sand filter and automatic valve on the field. This system is used for training & demonstration to the farmers. This system saves water, electricity & manpower.
Agronomy Farm – The Krishi Vigyan Kendra possesses 50 acres of land that is fully under cultivation of crops relevant to the area. The main purpose of the farm is to demonstrate the latest agricultural practices. It also acts as a tool to do applied research on agricultural technologies & undertake trials before their transfer to farmers. Agronomical crops like Soybean, Green Gram, Black Gram, Pigeon pea, Cotton, Bengal Gram, Jawar, Safflower, Ground nut and wheat etc are grown, All available land is fully irrigated, KVK has established all type of micro and macro irrigation systems and Fertigation unit through which Water and fertilizers are provided to all crops on farm.
Soil and water Testing Lab – This well equipped laboratory analyses soil, water, fertilizer/manure samples at reasonable rates. The laboratory is supported with computer software for more precise interpretation of results. Every soil sample is analyzed for eight parameters such as pH, Electric Conductivity, Organic Carbon, available Nitrogen, available Phosphorus, & available Potassium, Exchangeable Sodium, Calcium & Magnesium, Iron and other Micro Nutrients content. From 2015-16, KVK has been involved in Prime Minister, Soil Health Card Mission.
Mobile Soil Testing Lab – KVK also has a mobile soil and water testing laboratory for availing the facility at farmers’ doorstep. Started Mobile Soil, Water Testing Laboratory from Sept. 2012, which is supported by Manav Vikas Mission, Mobile van will visit the villages for Campaigning, Awareness Programs, Collection of Samples and check the samples of Soil &Water on spot. KVK has prepaid Soil Fertility index of different villages and boards are fixed in front of Gram Panchyat.
Seed Processing Unit – KVK Sagroli has emphasizes seed production program on KVK farm as well as on farmers field through farmers groups, FPO. Provide the facility of Seed Production and Processing of 2 ton per hour capacity. This seed unit Process and Packages seed of Soybean, Green Gram, Black Gram, Bengal Gram, Pigeon pea, Safflower, Sorghum etc. Farmers from nearby Tahsils.
Procurement Center – KVK has established link with Future Consumer Group, Mumbai (Big-Bazar) and signed MOU for procurement of farmers produce, Big Bazzar opened their procurement center since 2015-16, they procure mainly Green Gram, Black Gram, Bengal Gram, Pigeon pea, Safflower, Sorghum, Wheat and Soybean etc. farmers from more than 35 villages attached with the center.
One Window Input shop facility – KVK Provide a facility of sell counter for purchase of all agri related inputs like Seeds, Seed lings, Bio fertilizers, Bio agents, Pheromone traps, Lures, Value added products, Fodder Seed and Cuttings, Mineral Mixture, Small Equipments, Manufactured and Produces at KVK etc.
Horticulture Farm – The Krishi Vigyan Kendra Sagroli possesses 30 acres of separate land that is fully under cultivation of horticulture crops. The main purpose of the farm is to demonstrate the latest horticultural practices. It also acts as a tool to do applied research on horticultural technologies & undertake trials before their transfer to farmers. Farms have the mother blocks of horticulture crops such as Mango-var.keshar,Dashehari ,Ber-var.umaran,apple ber, Pomegranate-var.Bhagava,super bhagava, Guava-L-49, Fig-Dinkar, Drum stick, Sapota-Kali patti,Kagzilime-sai sarbati,Phule sarbati, Custard Apple-Balanagar etc. KVK has good vegetable and floricultural cafeteria.
Nursery – The KVK has nursery over 10 R area. Farmers can purchase grafts and seedlings of Mango-var.keshar,Dashehari ,Ber-var.umaran,apple ber, Pomegranate-var.Bhagava,super bhagava, Guava-L-49, Fig-Dinkar, Drum stick, Sapota-Kali patti,Kagzilime-sai sarbati,Phule sarbati, Custard Apple-Balanagar etc. KVK also have vegetable seedling nursery from which Seedlings of vegetable varieties like Brinjal, Tomato, Chilli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Onion ect. Are make available to the farmers as per their demand. Plants are produced with the help of modern techniques.
Polyhouse/Shadenet house – The Krishi Vigyan Kendra has constructed Polyhouse of 10 R areas, which are naturally ventilated. This is meant for cultivation of Gerbera flowers, Vegetables. The aim to demonstrate the crop production high value crop in low volume area under protected covering. KVK organizes different short & long term training programs on protected cultivation for farmers and rural youths.
Bio Control Lab – KVK has established well equipped laboratory for the production of Bio agents. This laboratory produces and provides different biological products on minimum price as per farmers demand. Products like liquid rhyzobium, PSB,azotobactor,tricoderma,manufactured in laboratory
Sericulture Unit – KVK has scientifically established mulbery plantation on one hector land and well facilitated shed (60 x 20 x 12 cubic feet) for the rearing of silkworm having a rearing capacity of 250 DFLs per batchit is one of the best residential shericulture training center.
Apiculture – KVK has apiculture unit consisting 50 bee boxes of breed apis melifara. To increase crop productions kvk providing facility to avail bee boxes for farmers on hire basis on minimum rent to keep it in their field.
Custom hiring center – This Krishi Vigyan Kendra having three JCB machines and three tractors of different capacity with several tractors drawn as well as bullock drawn farm implements. The KVK having two sets unique hose reel irrigation system (mobile sprinkler system) KVK provides these implements to farmers on hire basis on minimum rent.
Waste Water Recycling – Waste water from staff quarters and students hostels is collected in farm pond constructed at kvk farm, having 1 lakh liter storage capacity. EM solution was added for purification purpose. This stored water used for irrigates the fodder crops and horticulture crops.
Drudgery Reduction Technologies for Farm Women – Different drudgery reducing technology demonstrations are regularly given to farm women like Soybean harvesting mittens, Cotton picking apron, different sickles, milking stool and stand, different types of hoes, manual seedling transplantor, Hanging type of double screen cleaner etc. also low cost fluoride water purifiers are distributed among the fluoride affected villages which reduces the fluoride content from water.
